Smart & Final Plans New Bay Area Location

Los Angeles-based grocery chain Smart & Final has announced the opening of its newest store in the Golden State. A new Smart & Final Extra! location will open in San Jose, Calif. on Dec. 14.

Located at 430 Blossom Hill Road in San Jose, the new 39,000-square-foot store will offer customers a vast selection of both household and club-sized products, including from the chain’s First Street and Sun Harvest private brands.

“I’ve worked for Smart & Final since graduating from high school right here in San Jose,” said Carlos Santa Cruz, manager of the new store. “I’m thrilled to provide Smart & Final’s budget-friendly selection of products for both households and local businesses in my own community. We offer more club-sized products than the average club store, which saves our customers money and time.”

The new location will feature a sushi bar, a fully stocked deli department, floral arrangements, organic groceries and more. The Smart & Final Extra! in San Jose will employ 75 people.

Part of Chedraui USA, Smart & Final operates 253 stores in California, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico.
