Smart & Final CEO Retires

Scott Drew is stepping down after more than a decade with the California-based regional grocer.

Scott Drew is retiring after 13 years with Smart & Final.

Chedraui USA has announced that Smart & Final president Scott Drew is retiring effective Sept. 29. 

Drew began his career in the industry more than four decades ago as a grocery clerk. He joined Smart & Final in 2010.

“I am grateful for Scott’s tireless service to Smart & Final for more than a decade,” said Carlos Smith, CEO of Chedraui USA. “I wish him and his wife, Kelly, the very best as they embark on this next chapter of their lives.”

Smith will continue to serve as CEO of Chedraui USA with Sean Mahony, senior vice president of Store Operations; Matt Reeve, senior vice president of Sales & Merchandising; and Dan Matarelli, group vice president of Chedraui USA Marketing, now reporting directly to Smith.

Chedraui USA is the fourth largest grocery retailer in California and parent company for El Super, Smart & Final and Fiesta Mart stores.
