Edward Chisholm

Fresh and frozen chicken and prepared foods company Sanderson Farms is growing its staff. The Laurel, Miss.-based company, which offers private label and branded products, has promoted Edward Chisholm to the role of director of operations and named Mike Tamimi director of production, succeeding Chisholm in his former role.

Chisholm is a more than 20-year veteran of Sanderson Farms who has held positions in the live production side of the business. He also serves on the company’s executive committee, as well as various other committees, including the diversity and inclusion committee, which he chairs. His new role will give him oversight of the company’s processing, live production and sales operations.

“I look forward to the opportunity to influence our operations from the start to the finish of our vertically-integrated model,” Chisholm said. “Whether it’s growing a healthy bird in live production, producing the finest quality product in our processing operations or providing the best customer service our industry has to offer, each stage of our operations is equally important to ensuring the company’s continued success, and I am honored to have the opportunity to make an impact.”

He has been with Sanderson Farms for 12 years. “I have worked alongside Mike for nearly a decade now in various roles, and I know he will do an excellent job of leading our live production team,” Chisholm said. “I look forward to continuing to work with him as we both transition into new roles within the company’s leadership team.”

Sanderson Farms president and COO noted that the promotions will help grow the company.

“During their tenure with Sanderson Farms, Edward and Mike have worked in many of our live production divisions and at nearly every level of management,” Butts said. “I am confident they both have the experience and expertise necessary to lead our company’s operations to new records of success and help us prepare for future growth.”
