Sam’s Club launches home delivery in three markets

As a result of Sam's Club's partnership with Instacart, nonmembers will be able to order Member's Mark items online in three markets.

Bentonville, Ark.-based Sam’s Club, a division of Walmart, has teamed up with San Francisco-headquartered Instacart to offer same-day home delivery service in St. Louis as well as in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin, Texas, areas.

Consumers in those locales now can visit Samsclub.com/instacart to fill their virtual carts with a range of items — from produce, meat and frozen foods to everyday essentials, including private brand Member’s Mark products and small appliances — and have them delivered to their doorstep by Instacart in as little as an hour.

“We know our members love our mix of exciting items and appreciate it when we make life a little easier for them,” said Sachin Padwal, Sam’s Club’s vice president of omnichannel and in-club product, in a press release. “Instacart is a trusted partner by so many customers.”

Instacart customers will have the option to shop local Sam's Clubs without a membership, giving them access to Sam’s Club savings, bulk shopping options and private brand Member’s Mark items. Sam's Club members will simply save their membership number in the loyalty card section to receive membership rewards and lower, members-only pricing on items, the company said.

"As Instacart continues to expand to new markets and reach new customers at a blistering pace, valued and respected brands such as Sam’s Club are the driving force behind it," said Sarah Mastrorocco, Instacart’s vice president of business development.

Sam’s Club hopes to expand the same-day delivery service to millions of additional households across the United States throughout 2018 and beyond, the company stated.
