Safeway partners with 'Hunger Is'
Via its website, Pleasanton, Calif.-based Safeway Inc. said it partnered with Hunger Is, a charity dedicated to helping end hunger among children, to donate up to $1 million in September. When consumers purchase participating products under the O Organics and Open Nature store brands and under the Coca-Cola, Campbell’s, Unilever, Kellogg’s and Marie Callender’s brands, the retailer will donate at least 10 cents to the charity per item. Consumers can identify which items qualify by looking for blue tags that read “Hunger is all of us: participating item.”
