Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families issues retailer ‘report card’

11/18/2016

Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families, a Washington, D.C.-based advocacy organization, ranks Walmart, Target and CVS Health as the top U.S. retailers when it comes to efforts to remove allegedly questionable chemicals from consumer packaged goods.

“Walmart, Target and CVS Health received the highest grades and have developed and made public the most robust safer chemical management programs during the past three years,” stated the organization in “Who's Minding the Store?,” billed as its first “retailer report card.”

Posted Nov. 16, the report notes that CVS was the first pharmacy chain in the country to become a signatory to the Chemical Footprint Project (www.chemicalfootprint.org).
