Family-owned food company Rich Products is continuing to expand its portfolio. The Buffalo, N.Y.-based company has purchased pizza dough company Rizzuto Foods and Morey’s Seafood International. The two companies supplement Rich’s recent purchase of TreeHouse Foods’ two bakery facilities.

“As we enter our 75th year, we remain as committed as ever to driving value for our customers,” said Ray Burke, president and COO of Rich Products’ U.S. Canada region. “Expanding our product portfolio, adding greater capacity and fueling innovation are key pieces of our strategic acquisition efforts. These moves strengthen our position as a total solutions provider in today’s rapidly evolving marketplace.”

The purchase of Rizutto’s, the company said, adds to Rich’s 40-year strong pizza business. The Spokane, Wash.-based company is known for its pizza and flatbread products, as well as gluten-free and cauliflower crusts. The acquisition also positions Rich’s for increased capacity and increased innovation.

Rich’s also noted that the acquisition of Morey’s Seafood International, based in Plymouth, Minn., brings with it a state-of-the-art processing center in Motley, Minn. and a distribution center in Plymouth. It will supplement Rich’s SeaPak, a brand of top-selling frozen specialty seafood.
