West Sacramento, Calif.-based Raley’s Supermarkets said it is partnering with Harris Ranch Beef to provide its customers with California Grown USDA Choice Beef, locally raised and grown. The beef will be co-branded when sold in stores.
“When Raley’s went looking for premium, well-marbled and locally produced beef, we found it in our own backyard at Harris Ranch,” said Koen Vemelyen, Raley’s meat and seafood expert. “We know our customers want fresh and locally sourced product — at Raley’s, our customer will receive high quality beef from California.”
Harris Ranch’s sustainable, local and home-grown beef helps support local California and regional economies, the retailer said. Cattle feed is tested to ensure it is free of pesticide residue, and finished beef is screened for antibiotic resides above USDA standards. Harris Ranch beef is grown by ranching families committed to animal welfare. California grown, fed and processed beef is better for the environment and reflects Raley’s and Harris Ranch’s mutual commitment to providing the freshest, most wholesome products.
