Publix Revenue Grows In Q3

The grocer reports also reports revenue gains through the first nine months of the year.

Publix reported strong comparable store sales gains in the third quarter.

Publix reported solid revenue gains in the third quarter with comparable store sales growth a key driver. 

For the three months ended September 30, total sales were $14 billion, a 7.2% increase over the comparable quarter the previous year. Comparable store sales for the same period increased 4.3%. Net earnings in the quarter were $833 million, compared to $394 million in 2022. Earnings per share increased to $0.25 per share, up from $0.12 per share in 2022. 

Sales at Publix for the nine months ended September 30 were $42.4 billion, an 8.1% increase from $39.2 billion in 2022. Comparable store sales for the period increased 5.6%. Net earnings for the year’s first nine months were $3.2 billion, compared to $1.6 billion in 2022. Earnings per share were $0.95 per share, up from $0.48 per share in 2022.
