Publix Expanding Florida Store Count

The grocer in April will open seven new stores that includes six new locations in Florida and one in Alabama.

Publix in April will open six new Florida stores.

April will be a busy month for Publix as the supermarket chain has scheduled seven new store openings, with six of those locations in Florida. 

The first of the new Florida stores opened on April 4 in Sarasota at 1940 Lakewood Ranch Boulevard, and in Homestead at 1220 East Palm Drive. On April 11, a new Publix at 10640 Forest Hill Boulevard in Wellington will celebrate its grand opening.

April 18 will be a busy day for Publix with the opening of three stores: 81 Alafaya Woods Boulevard in Oviedo, 19050 Corkscrew Road in Estero, and 7655 Stadium Parkway, Melbourne. 

The grocer will close out the month with the opening of a new store in Gulf Shores, Alabama at 1720 Gulf Shores Pkwy

According to Progressive Grocer, Store Brands sister publication, the new stores range in size from 25,740 square feet to 54,964 square feet. 

Since February 1, Publix has opened nine stores in Florida, Georgia and Tennessee.
