Private label vendor Pooki’s Mahi pilot-testing tea pods

2/21/2017

San Francisco-based Pooki’s Mahi, which makes private label and custom Kona coffee pods, is testing chai tea pods among a group of existing customers to determine what the launch assortment will be. This is the third round of product testing for the single-serve teas, the company said.

“Pooki’s Mahi completed the first pilot to prune the number of single-serve tea flavors,” Les Magsalay-Zeller, the company’s founder and CEO, said in a statement, noting that the initial private label tea catalogue contained up to 50 different flavors across six tea varieties. “Existing customers help drive Pooki’s Mahi’s product launches.”

The second round of testing is determining the number of flavors to include in several variety packs, while the third round will finalize the specific flavors, the company said.

Each chai pod lists the item’s ingredients, allergy information, brewing instructions, nutrients and basic company information. The teas will fulfill Pooki’s Mahi’s goal of providing high-quality sustainable teas to customers, the company said.
