The winners of the Private Label Manufacturers Association’s annual Salute to Excellence are in for 2020. Winners were chosen in nearly 70 food and nonfood categories, and this year the announcements are featured in a series of exclusive interviews with retailers that include first-hand insights into their innovation processes, as well as consumer trends, research and strategic development that brought the products to shelves.
Among food products, 51 awards were given in 47 categories across such categories as food for the family, bakery and desserts, dairy, beverages, meal preparation, snacks and healthy eating. Within nonfoods, 22 products were recognized across 11 health and beauty care categories and 10 categories for home and household products.
Retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, brokers and trade suppliers were asked to submit products into the Food & Drink Awards and Home & Health Awards, each of which is subdivided by product category. Entrants must have been introduced in the preceding 12 months. This year, more than 720 products were submitted and evaluated by a panel of professional and consumer judges. Awards were based on taste, performance, packaging, presentation and value for money.
