Phil Lempert partners with Stagnito + Edgell
Phil Lempert, a national food trends analyst, and Deerfield, Ill.-based Stagnito Business Information + Edgell Communications forged an exclusive strategic alliance that will allow Lempert to provide content and programming to multiple consumer packaging goods (CPG) retail media brands within the Stagnito + Edgell portfolio, including Store Brands and Progressive Grocer.
Lempert is founder of The Lempert Report, a food trends publication, and SupermarketGuru.com, an online resource for food safety, products, trends and shopping tips that attracts more than nine-million visitors annually.
Beginning April 11, 2016, ProgressiveGrocer.com will begin posting Lempert’s weekly videos, which include new product reviews, news and editorials about issues and trends in the food industry. He will also have a column in Progressive Grocer’s monthly print publication, which has served the grocery industry for nearly 100 years.
“It’s an honor to work with the Progressive Grocer team and other editors and executives at Stagnito Business Information and Edgell Communications,” Lempert said. “Together, we will provide the industry with the best thought leadership and information available, helping the industry move forward and make decisions that ultimately affect bottom lines and consumers.”
Lempert will also work with Stagnito + Edgell on its growing Retail Dietitian and Grocerant educational programs and live events, providing program content for both platforms. Lempert is founder and CEO of the Retail Dietitians Business Alliance, a professional association of more than 1,900 registered retail dietitians throughout North America, most of whom work in supermarkets helping customers and employees with food and nutrition issues.
“Phil’s knowledge and access to all facets of the industry will provide our audience with a fresh and informative perspective,” said Jeffrey Friedman, Stagnito + Edgell vice president and group brand director. “Working together not only editorially, but also with professional programs, will help our industry grow.”
