Perrigo Nutritionals, makers of store brand infant formula sold by retailers across the United States, announced the launch of its Store Brand Formula #UniqueBaby program and sweepstakes. One randomly drawn entrant will win $5,000 and a year's supply of baby formula. The program, which "celebrates every little thing that makes babies unique," runs Sept. 28 through Nov. 6.
To enter the program and sweepstakes, a parent simply needs to visit storebrandformula.com/unique-baby-sweepstakes.aspx , upload photos of his or her baby at age 2 or under that personifies the baby's individuality, and provide a brief description of why his or her baby is unique.
"This program celebrates the unique qualities found in every baby, while bringing attention to the subject of infant formula, where actually, the opposite can be true," said Sandra Gordon, author of Consumer Reports' "Best Baby Products" and a contributing writer to Parents.com. "The FDA mandates that all infant formula brands meet the same standards, so whether we choose an expensive name brand formula or a store brand formula that costs significantly less, it's a relief to know we're providing our babies the proper nutrition to grow and develop."
According to federal regulations and the guidance of healthcare professional groups such as the American Academy of Pediatrics, infant formula must be formulated so that it can provide a baby with a sole source of nutrition. Perrigo Nutritionals, part of Allegan, Mich.-based Perrigo Co., is the largest supplier of store brand infant formula and nutrition products in the world and one of only four companies recognized by the FDA for meeting the agency's requirements for safety, nutrition and quality for infant formula-manufacturing in the United States. By switching to store brand formula, which costs up to half the price of name brands, a family can save up to $600 per year without compromising quality, Perrigo Nutritionals said.
