Online fans welcome return of H-E-B’s Poteet strawberry ice cream flavor

A blogger for Statesman.com, an Austin, Texas-based news site, noted the return of a popular limited-time flavor in the H-E-B Creamy Creations premium ice cream line. 

The Poteet Strawberry flavor, made with Poteet strawberries and mesquite honey, is a seasonal store brand SKU that is manufactured every spring until the Poteet strawberry crop runs out. Known as the “Strawberry Capital of Texas,” Poteet is a town some 30 miles south of San Antonio, where H-E-B is headquartered

“The flavor’s particularly strong fan base will stop at nothing to stock freezers with gallons of the seasonal specialty,” the blogger wrote, citing a Reddit post.

H-E-B is known for effectively using limited-time offerings to generate excitement, as the upcoming article “Creating the Covetable” in Store Brands’ May issue will explore in more detail.
