Ocean Bio-Chem expands Performacide production

Ocean Bio-Chem is growing its manufacturing capacity for its disinfectant Performacide. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based company said it has opened a third production line to make the disinfectant, which it said kills SARS-CoV-2 — the cause of COVID-19 — on hard surfaces.

The company said the increased capacity would help it fulfill an order backlog and add new sales opportunities. “With the third production line fully operational we anticipate increased sales of Performacide in the third quarter compared to the second quarter of 2020,” said Peter Dornau, president and CEO of Ocean Bio-Chem, which also produces private label formulations of many of its products, as well as custom blending and packaging services.

Performacide is a point-of-use chlorine dioxide-generating pouch system. When the pouch is immersed in water, it creates a solution that can be used on emerging viruses and is a pharmaceutical-grade disinfectant, sanitizer, tuberculocide, viricide, fungicide and deodorizer.
