N.Y. weighing new CPG packaging regulation
New York could soon become the first state to require ingredient labels on feminine hygiene products.
A new measure has passed the legislature and now awaits action by Gov. Andrew Cuomo. It would require that packaging labels list the materials used in tampons and pads.
Supporters say the information will give consumers vital information about possible allergens, hazardous chemicals and synthetic materials in hygiene products.
Cuomo has not yet weighed in on the bill. His office said it will be reviewed before Cuomo decides whether to sign it into law.
