New Save-A-Lot looks like ALDI

According to the Times, Save-A-Lot has been opening numerous new stores with shiny gray floors, showcase freezers, elevated shelving and bold signage.

Save-A-Lot’s newest store concept is looking quite familiar, and it’s not because it looks like your typical Save-A-Lot store.

In fact, according to the Tampa Bay Times, the company’s newest one at Armenia Avenue and W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Tampa, Fla., that opened at the end of January doesn't look like the Save-A-Lot you're used to seeing: The color scheme is blue and gray with red accents. The freezers are big and the produce section has been expanded. Its new logo and decor are turning shoppers' heads.

Which is all similar to ALDI’s store format.

According to the Times, Save-A-Lot has been opening numerous new stores with shiny gray floors, showcase freezers, elevated shelving and bold signage. However, it still has the dry and packaged staples for which it’s known. It has just grown its selection of fresh foods and added a money-back guarantee — all things ALDI has done over the last several years.
