New Sam's Club Program Offers Discounted Pet Insurance
Sam's Club has teamed with Spot Pet Insurance to launch an integrated pharmacy program and discounted insurance plan that is exclusive to the warehouse club's members.
According to Sherri Keeth, vice president of healthcare at Sam's Club, the new program was developed by the two companies with "real life in mind" and provides care designed to help with pet owners' routines.
"With many Sam's Club members owning pets, many of whom aren't likely currently insured based on national pet insurance statistics, we knew there was an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of millions of families," she wrote in a blog post on Walmart.com. "We've made big strides in improving the Sam's Club member experience, from simpler healthcare to trusted pharmacy support right inside our clubs. With all that progress, shouldn't caring for our pets feel just as easy?"
Highlights of the new pet insurance include:
- Up to 15% off customizable pet insurance plans (and Spot's additional 10% multi-pet discount on all added pets) through Spot.
- More than 110 pet medications are available for $80 or less, with no reimbursement forms. More than 50 of these medications are available for $15 or less. A select flea, tick, and heartworm preventative medication for cats and a select heartworm preventative medication for dogs are available for no out-of-pocket cost.
- Convenient in-club medication dispensing service, eliminating the need for extra vet visits for medication dispensing.
"As pet parents, we do everything we can to keep our animals healthy," Keeth said. "But between rising costs and confusing systems, even basic care can feel overwhelming. That's why I'm proud to share something new, built to help take the stress out of pet care and deliver the same kind of experience we've worked hard to create for our members."
