McCain Foods USA, Lisle, Ill., said it is expanding its voluntary recall of frozen onion rings to include two additional private brand products sold in packaging that did not declare milk as one of the ingredients. The newly recalled products are 20-ounce bags of Kroger Frozen Breaded Minced Onion Rings with a production date between March 9, 2015, and July 24, 2015, The Kroger Co., Cincinnati; and 20-ounce bags of Fareway Brand Frozen Breaded Onion Rings with a production date between March 9, 2015, and June 5, 2015, sold by Boone, Iowa-based Fairway Foods Inc.
On Sept. 23, McCain Foods USA recalled certain frozen onion ring products sold under the Premium Pick 5 Mix and Match, Krasdale, Spartan and Shur Fine private brands. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products, McCain Foods USA said.
