Convenience store chain Maverik is in the process of rebranding all Kum & Go stores it acquired in a deal dating back to April of 2023.

According to a report in the Des Moines Register citing a statement from the retailer, the rebranding is being done to unify the company’s footprint under the Maverik brand. No timeline for the completion of the rebranding was provided, but the company said it is taking a thoughtful, market-by-market approach with the effort.

In April, Maverik revealed it had completed the rebrand of 30 locations in Utah and Colorado that were formerly under the Kum & Go brand. Company officials said the exterior look of rebranded stores differs slightly from Maverik’s new store format, but inside, customers will find the same products and deals.

The acquisition of Kum & Go by Maverik — Adventure’s First Stop included more than 400 locations across 13 states from Krause Group. The deal also included Solar Transport, a tank truck carrier and logistics provider owned by the Krause.

Before the deal, Maverik operated 400 locations and is growing across 12 western states, making it the largest independent fuel marketer in the Intermountain West. Locations include Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Nebraska, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
