Martha Stewart to headline PLMA’s 2014 Store Brands Trade Show

10/1/2014

The Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA), New York, announced its slate of speakers and seminars for its 2014 Store Brands “Reality” Trade Show, which will be held Nov. 16-18 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill.

Headlining the program will be a keynote speech by Martha Stewart, founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Emmy-award-winning television show host, entrepreneur, bestselling author and one of America’s most recognizable business and media personalities, which will be made at the Nov. 17 breakfast, PLMA stated. Product lines bearing the Martha Stewart name have provided major retail chains with exclusive lifestyle offerings in categories ranging from cooking and entertaining to gardening, home renovation, crafts, healthy living, pets and more. Their success has expanded the concept of store brands while opening new possibilities for the private label industry.

At the Nov. 18 PLMA Live Breakfast, Stephen Mader, senior analyst for Kantar Retail, will present on the topic of digital retailing, PLMA said. As for seminars on Nov. 16, Christopher Durham, vice president of retail brands with Charlotte, N.C.-based branding and retail marketing agency Theory House, will present “Store Brands Are for Everybody.” It will be followed by three concurrent sessions: “What Your QC Department Isn’t Telling You” with Jim Wisner, president of Libertyville, Ill.-based consultancy Wisner Marketing Group; “Store Brand Organics: Where Value Meets Profit” with Robert Vosburgh, PLMA Live news director; and “Store Brands Cosmetics: More than a Pretty Face” with Len Lewis of Lewis Communications.
