A recent 200,000-square-foot expansion of its production and warehouse facilities has enabled Dakota, Ill.-based Berner Food & Beverage to broaden its shelf-stable dip program to include additional varieties, said the company, which makes a number of clean label and free-from dips.
“Flavors such as salsa con queso, white salsa con queso and cheddar dips continue to be top sellers in the snack aisle,” said Tyler Kneubuehl, Berner’s director of marketing and analytics, in a statement. “We also encourage customers to look at additional trending flavor options such as French onion, ranch, spinach or even bean dip.” In addition, the manufacturer can customize formulations for retailers with private brand programs.
Berner uses retort processing, which allows the company to provide trans-fat-free, sodium-reduced products with an extended shelf life. The manufacturer also offers high-temperature, short-time (HTST) hot-fill pre-closure processing.
