Baking product manufacturer Little Big Farm Foods has completed its relocation to a new production facility, warehouse and corporate office in Newmarket, N.H.

The upgrades come a year after the company recognized a need for a larger, more efficient facility to meet the needs of its growing business and to meet the challenges of a tight labor market. Fern Phillips, CEO, and Gus Bybee, COO, decided to automate the company’s mixing and filling equipment, installing the Chain-Vey System from Modern Process Equipment of Chicago.

“Finding it harder and harder to maintain the work force we needed to meet demand for our products, we knew we had to find a way to automate our equipment,” said Phillips. “We were fortunate to work with the Chain-Vey Team to design the perfect mixing and packaging system to meet our specifications.”

The newly opened facility includes a more efficient warehouse, new corporate offices and a state-of-the-art production facility that features an integrated, self-cleaning, mixing and filling process using the Chain-Vey Tubular Drag System.

“The automated mixing and packaging systems are flexible and efficient and the clean-in-place design allows faster changeovers between products,” said Bybee. “Our new facility is the answer to our current and future manufacturing needs.
