Lidl has expanded its urban footprint with the opening of its newest stores at the Queens Place Mall, in the New York City borough of Queens.

Located on the mall’s lower level, the 35,000 square foot store officially opened January 23 and joins a host of other retailers at the mall including Target, Best Buy, and Macy’s Backstage. The store, located in the Elmhurst section of Queens, will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“We are thrilled to expand our presence in Queens and become part of the Queens Place Mall,” said Simon Hedderman, regional vice president for Lidl US. "Building on the success we’ve experienced in Astoria, we are excited to share with our newest neighbors a wide selection of fresh produce, an award-winning assortment, and a convenient, fun shopping experience to our new friends and customers.”

The Elmhurst store is the second Lidl location in Queens, with the other located in Astoria. The grocer also has stores in Manhattan and on Staten Island and 20 locations across nearby Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island. This is Lidl’s 174th store in the U.S.
