Lidl Expanding In Virginia

The discount grocer will open a new store in the community of Woodbridge on Oct. 1

Lidl will open a new store in Woodbridge, Virginia, on Oct. 1.

Lidl will begin October with a new store as the discount grocer celebrates the grand opening of its Woodbridge, Virginia, location.

Scheduled to open on Oct. 1, the store at 2904 Prince William Parkway will be the company’s 36th location in the state and will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Highlights of the new store include:

  • Lidl’s 49 Cent Croissant: These are flown in from Europe and baked fresh daily in the store.
  • Bakery Special Guests: The recently launched Special Guest bakery program features a new baked good each month that leans into seasonal trends and unique items, available while supplies last. For the Woodbridge opening, Lidl will showcase its Pumpkin Muffin and its new Corn Muffin.
  • Butcher’s Specialty private-label meat brand: The line includes high-quality, affordable beef, chicken, pork, lamb, and veal. Options include USDA Choice beef, organic beef, grass-fed beef, antibiotic-free chicken, and all-natural pork.
  • Preferred Selection pizza: Imported from Europe, the line features a combination of unique and classic flavors such as Truffle Oil & Mushroom, 5 Cheese & Chutney and Margherita.
  • Bon Gelati mini mix ice cream bars: The Lidl-exclusive pack comes with 12 bars and four flavors: milk chocolate, almond, white chocolate and dark chocolate.
  • Lidl Preferred Selection Parmigiano Reggiano aged 24 months.
  • Lidl Preferred Selection prosciutto: A premium, thinly sliced prosciutto for charcuterie boards, sandwiches and more.
  • Lidl Preferred Selection frozen tiramisu.
  • Preferred Selection chilled Italian pasta: Ingredients are imported from Italy and feature premium fillings, including truffle and lobster, and are offered in flavors such as Cacio e Pepe, Burrata and Sun-Dried Tomato.

The discount grocer, known for its broad selection of private-label products, has had a busy spring and summer, opening or announcing openings of new stores in New York City; Hackensack, New Jersey; Newark, Delaware; Brooklyn, New York; and Bowie, Maryland. The company now operates more than 190 stores in the U.S.
