Lidl Expanding In New Jersey
Lidl is expanding in New Jersey with the opening of a new store in Freehold on May 9.
Located near the Freehold Raceway Mall, the new location at 91 Trotters Way will be the grocer’s 25th store in the Garden State.
The store will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and include a selection of private label products, global imports, along with everyday name brand items. Imported cheeses along with fresh meats and seafood will be part of the store’s assortment.
Among the product highlights will be Lidl’s new Butcher’s Specialty private label meat. The assortment includes high-quality, affordable beef, chicken, pork, lamb, and veal. Options include USDA choice beef, organic beef, grass fed beef, antibiotic-free chicken, and all-natural pork.
The Freehold store follows the recent openings of new Lidl New Jersey locations in Paramus on February 12, and Livingston on December 11. It also maintains Lidl’s corporate expansion strategy in the U.S. that was previously outlined to Store Brands by Miguel Paradela, executive vice president of Purchasing and Chief Commercial Officer for Lidl US.
During an interview in late 2024, Paradela said of the grocer’s store growth, “We are focusing on our core markets and will keep growing in those areas. As we look to open new stores, our focus will be on metropolitan areas such as Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and New York.”
