Kroger, Loblaws recall private brand products

The Kroger Co., Cincinnati, announced a recall of its Bakery Fresh Goodness chocolate brownies because the product might contain walnuts not listed on the label. The product only poses a risk to individuals who are allergic to walnuts. No other safety issues are associated with this product.

Loblaw Companies Ltd., Brampton, Ontario, issued two store brand recalls on the same day. The first was for its President Choice Butter Chicken Lasagna. The retailer reported that the lasagna may contain some chicken bones. The second recall was for its PC Organics Canned Chickpeas. According to the retailers, the chickpeas “pose no food safety concern, but the quality of some units may have been compromised.”
