Kohl's has named retail veteran Fred Hand as its new senior executive vice president, director of Stores.

Reporting to Dave Alves, the retailer’s president & chief operating officer, Hand will be part of the Kohl's senior executive leadership team and will support the company's strategic focus on driving store sales and productivity as a critical component of the company's omnichannel business.

He will oversee Kohl's 1,100+ stores, stores operations & experience, loss prevention and store experience and design functions.

"Fred has a deep appreciation and passion for the power that brick & mortar retail plays in an omnichannel business model," said Alves. "He is committed to serving customers by empowering stores and associates and we are excited to welcome him to the Kohl's team."

"During my years in the retail industry, I've deeply admired Kohl's and am so excited to now be a part of this well-loved brand," said Hand. "I look forward to working with the senior leadership team and all of the associates across the country as we continue to serve millions of customers in our stores and execute our long-term strategy."

Hand has a distinguished career in retail, with decades of store leadership and C-Suite experience, including more than 30 years leading the Stores organizations at national retailers including Burlington, Macy's and Filene's. Most recently, Hand was CEO of Tuesday Morning.

Prior, he was chief operating officer at Burlington, where he led the Stores organization for more than 13 years. Prior to Burlington, Hand held senior leadership positions in stores and visual merchandising at May Department Stores (then Macy's) and Filene's.
