Kiwifruit concentrate supports digestive health
Based in City of Industry, Calif., functional ingredient manufacturer AIDP offers a wide selection of nutraceuticals that can be supplied in bulk to the food processing industry. One of the company’s digestive products, Actazin is a powder derived from New Zealand kiwifruit that is intended to promote normal bowel function. The manufacturer processes kiwi pulp into a seedless, skinless puree that is then dried and finely milled, using proprietary processes to ensure that key nutrients and bioactive substances are retained. Actazin includes soluble and insoluble fibers for bowel regularity; polyphenolics, which provide micronutrients needed for boosting immune system; a Kiwi-unique proteolytic enzyme that enhances protein digestion; and prebiotics that promote survival and proliferation of intestinal bacteria, according to the company. Actazin is gluten-free, non-GMO and free of preservatives, and it contains only sugars naturally found in kiwifruit. A certified organic version of the product is also available.
