Kings Food Markets, Parsippany, N.J., said its customers have made it clear that cage-free eggs are a priority. So the retailer plans to source 100 percent cage-free shell and liquid eggs for its own-brand eggs brand by the end of 2016.
In addition, Kings Food Markets said it is committed to offering only cage-free shell and liquid eggs by 2025.
“We pride ourselves on being a leader in cage-free egg offerings in our marketplace," said Judy Spires, chairman and CEO, Kings Food Markets. "In fact, 50 percent of our shell egg sales are cage-free."
