Key Food to purchase 23 A&P stores

According to an Oct. 22 Produce News article, Key Food Stores Co-Operative Inc., New York, will purchase 23 new stores from the Montvale, N.J.-based Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. (A&P). The purchase will bring Key Food up to 212 stores and will preserve approximately 1,800 jobs for A&P employees. Key Food expects to complete the purchase of all 23 stores by mid-November.
