Kadenwood's PL producer EcoGen buys General Processing

Kadenwood’s recently acquired EcoGen Biosciences, which manufactures and supplies hemp-derived ingredients, proprietary formulations and private label finished products, is growing with a new acquisition. The Grand Junction, Colo.-based company is buying General Processing, a hemp processing and extraction company based in Colorado. 

EcoGen said the deal would substantially expand its production capacity and add capabilities in sustainability and good manufacturing practice compliance. It also will allow the company to further integrate its own supply chain to serve American and global markets.

The acquisition comes with internal research and development and innovative process intellectual property around sustainability, as well as a 50,000-sq.-ft. production campus in Delta, Colo., and accompanying 165 acres of farming land. The facility, which recently was inspected for 21 CFR Part 111 certification by ASI, positions EcoGen for future regulatory compliance the company said. The facility also will remove entire stages from the manufacturing process, enabling a reduction in waste via proprietary equipment and processes.
