J&J Snack Foods announces retirement of senior official

Private label snack producer J&J Snack Foods has announced the upcoming retirement of its senior vice president of sales and marketing.

J&J Snack Foods, a branded and private label snack food manufacturer of 50 years, has announced that one of its senior officials is retiring as of early next year.

Bob Pape, senior vice president of sales, will retire effective Jan. 3, 2022 after spending 40 years in the food industry. During his tenure at J&J Snack Foods, Pape served in various roles, including national sales manager of retail where he worked with his team to grow popular brands like Superpretzel and Luigi’s Italian Ice. 

As vice president of retail and senior vice president of sales and marketing, he helped oversee the integration and acquisition of new brands to grow the J&J Snack Foods portfolio, including Whole Fruit, Dogsters and ICEE novelty products.  

“On behalf of the J&J Snack Food leadership team, I want to personally thank Bob for his service and dedication to the organization,” said Dan Fachner, president and chief executive officer of J&J Snack Foods. “A strategic and steadfast leader, he has played an integral role at JJSF for over two decades, helping to shape the sales organization and drive growth among our customers and shareholders. Bob has undoubtedly made his mark at this company, and I am confident the team will continue to benefit from his influence and leadership. The leadership team and I wish Bob the best of luck in this next chapter of life.” 

The company added commentary from Pape, saying he would like to “express gratitude to his associates, customers, and friends with whom he has worked and shared a passion for the ever-changing food industry over the last 23 years.”
