iHerb Debuts Supplements For Semaglutide Users
iHerb has launched three new supplements designed to support individuals using semaglutide (GLP-1 agonists) by addressing common side effects such as digestive issues including nausea and pain, loss of muscle mass and skin elasticity, and changing blood sugar levels.
The new supplements sold under the e-commerce retailer's proprietary California Gold Nutrition brand include CollagenUP Plus, Berberine Advanced, and Digestion Pro. The dietary supplements were conceived and developed in collaboration with Dr. Mehmet Oz, iHerb's global advisor and stakeholder, and Dr. Michael Murray, iHerb's chief scientific advisor, who advised on the formulation of ingredients needed to address key nutrient deficiencies that may occur when a person's appetite is significantly reduced.
Recent research on weight management drugs projects that 93 million adults in the U.S. who are overweight and obese may benefit from a GLP-1 agonist medication. While more individuals are using these new medications, a recent report revealed that 60 percent stopped using their GLP-1 medication before reaching their targeted duration, with many citing negative side effects as a factor for quitting the drug.
