Hy-Vee amps up prepared foods

West Des Moines, Iowa-based Hy-Vee is known for its fresh-prepared foods and other private brand offerings. In addition to food bars and made-to-order stations, 111 of Hy-Vee’s 244 stores have either full-service Market Grille restaurants or limited-service Market Grille Express fast-casual restaurants.

At its half dozen stores in the Minneapolis area, the chain has launched several new foodservice programs in the past year or so: a Hibachi Asian Grill, a Sweet Shoppe, Hickory House Comfort Foods and Cocina Mexicana, reported an article posted today on RetailWire.

“We want Hy-Vee to be the best when it comes to offering quality meals that are fresh, customized and convenient,” Matt Dougan, Hy-Vee’s vice president of procurement, is quoted as saying.
