Home Chef Taps Into Pickle Trend With New Pizza
The popularity of pickle-flavored foods continues to grow, and Home Chef is joining the trend with a new limited-edition pizza.
The new Pickle Pizza, featuring Grillo’s Pickles, is now available and, according to the company, offers a spicy, crisp, and fresh kick. The ready-to-bake pizza is topped with mozzarella cheese, Grillo's hot pickle chips, pulled pork, red onions, and barbecue sauce on a wood-fired-style crust.
Available at Kroger stores nationwide through Labor Day, the new pizza is priced at $7.99.
"Home Chef is thrilled to collaborate with the pickle pros at Grillo's to create this flavor-bomb Pickle Pizza," said Kayla McCreery, a marketing manager at Home Chef.
Also new from Home Chef is its Classic Seasoned Fresh Roasted Chicken with a new herb-and-spice blend. The ready-to-eat, bone-in chicken is seasoned with onion, roasted garlic, herbs such as parsley and oregano, lemon, and Dijon mustard. The new whole chicken, available hot or cold, is on shelves in the deli department of participating Kroger stores for $7.99.
Starting in mid-July, shoppers can also find two new Mexican-inspired, heat-and-eat offerings from Home Chef at Kroger stores. The new items include heat-and-eat burritos, crafted in collaboration with Tucson Foods, which come in cilantro-lime chicken and pork carnitas varieties, as well as a cheesy chicken quesadilla with red salsa.
