H-E-B pilots use of augmented reality

1/26/2018

H-E-B has concluded a successful pilot program in augmented reality (AR) in its manufacturing operations, according to a press release from Rochester, N.Y.-based Vuzix Corp., a supplier of smart glasses and AR and virtual reality (VR) technologies.

Vuzix M300 Smart Glasses allowed H-E-B plant workers to access the data and collaborative digital tools they needed hands-free, the release stated.

“The ability to leverage augmented reality on the plant floor will open the door to a game-changing approach to technical education and knowledge transfer,” said Greg Flickinger, group vice president of manufacturing operations for San Antonio, Texas-based H-E-B. “We’ve really just started to scratch the surface of all the ways we can drive value with the Vuzix M300 in our operations."
