H-E-B- is gearing up for Texas taco fans with the June 15th opening of its first True Texas Tacos location in San Antonio. The new site is “focused entirely on the Alamo City’s favorite fare,” it stated in a press release. The taco menu features more than a dozen breakfast and specialty tacos, ranging from traditional Tex-Mex offerings such as bacon and egg and bean and cheese to specialty bites such as barbacoa and chopped Texas brisket. Or customers can mix and match ingredients to make their own concoction, H-E-B stated.

The flour tortillas are made in-house. Corn tortillas are available upon request. A salsa bar is equipped with several sauces in different degrees of heat and taco-appropriate condiments.

Based in San Antonio, the supermarket chain has more than 350 stores throughout the state of Texas, as well as in northeast Mexico. The 24-hour, 9,000-square-foot convenience store also includes South Flo pizza, artisan made-to-order pizzas in five varieties, and will have 20 gas pumps, a car wash and an extensive wine and beer selection with a walk-in refrigerated beer cooler, the chain said. This marks the 11th convenience store location for H-E-B.

“We’re excited that our newest convenience store is filled with some terrific fare from delicious tacos to on-point pizza,” said Julie Bedingfield, H-E-B public affairs manager, in the release. “With our H-E-B convenience stores, we aim to offer customers quality, value and convenience all under one roof.”
