Gopuff, the delivery service that recently launched its first private brand, Basically, has appointed three new professionals to its leadership team.

First covered by Store Brands’ sister publication Progressive Grocer, Gopuff has hired Amelia Riba as VP of Gopuff Kitchens, the company’s prepared food program currently available within 20 of Gopuff’s micro-fulfillment centers. Gopuff has named Jacalyn Lee as director of communications, and Annie Palisi as head of federal affairs.

A native of Spain, Riba has more than 15 years of experience in building global CPG and quick-service restaurant brands, joining the company from her most recent role as chief brand officer for Pizza Hut UK and Europe and before that, as chief brand officer for Pizza Hut Latin America and Caribbean.

She also held marketing management positions at Burger King, Nestle and Mattel. In her new role, she will oversee innovations, expansions and strategic partnerships for Gopuff’s prepared foods.

Lee, a 20-year industry veteran, came to Gopuff from Equinox Media, where she was head of communications; her other experience includes communications leadership positions at The Knot Worldwide and Care.com. In her short time at Gopuff, she led the company's first Gopuff Quartertime Show and spearheaded communications for the partnership with the McClaren’s Formula 1 team.

In her new role, Palisi is tasked with cultivating relationships with regulators and advocating for issues that align with the company’s mission. Prior to her appointment at Gopuff, Palisi represented a portfolio of high-profile clients at the Washington D.C.-based consulting firm Invariant and worked on Capitol Hill as deputy director of member services for then-Speaker of the House John Boehner and as chief of staff to U.S. Congresswoman Diane Black of Tennessee.

Gopuff, founded in 2013 and based in Philadelphia, Penn., recently partnered with retail technology company GetUpside to offer shoppers exclusive cash-back promotions based on shopping history.
