Giant Eagle Using Technology To Enhance Delivery Service

The grocer is expanding its relationship with Flybuy to shorten the wait times for delivery drivers.

Giant Eagle is expanding its use of technology to enhance its home delivery service.

Giant Eagle is expanding its partnership with with Flybuy in an effort to enhance its last-mile delivery service and reduce delivery driver wait times.

According to the grocer, the expanded collaboration will streamline operations for third-party delivery drivers and offer a more efficient grocery delivery experience. Real-time alerts integrated into the Flybuy Dashboard and picking app has allowed Giant Eagle to cut wait times while also improving employee coordination to provide a better service to its customers.

“At Giant Eagle, we are always exploring opportunities to increase efficiency and convenience by leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance the customer experience,” said Heather Feather, senior director of Strategy, eCommerce, and Innovation at Giant Eagle. “Using Flybuy for delivery has helped lower wait times for our guests, building their confidence that their fresh groceries will be delivered quickly and reliably.”  

According to Flybuy, its AI-powered location technology helps identify which driver is arriving for specific order(s), improving driver selection and coordination. As a result,  wait times for delivery drivers has been reduced to less than an average of 2.5 minutes.
