Giant Eagle president and COO to retire

John Lucot, president and chief operating officer of Giant Eagle Inc., Pittsburgh, will retire, after 42 years with the company, on June 30. Laura Karet, CEO of the Pittsburgh-based regional retailer, will assume Lucot's chief operating officer responsibilities, but no additional changes are planned, according to a company spokesman.
