The Giant Company Expanding In Pennsylvania
The Giant Company has revealed the location for its new store in the Pennsylvania community of Parkesburg. The grocer did not offer details on a grand opening date.
Located at the corner of Route 30 - Lincoln Highway and Route 10 - Octorara Trail in Sadsbury Township, the 60,000-square-foot store will be between Philadelphia and Lancaster. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin later this year, subject to obtaining the necessary permits and approvals. Specific store amenities and employment opportunities will be shared at a later date.
This will be The Giant Company’s 14th location in Chester County.
“Having proudly served Chester County customers since 1984, this store marks our first in the Parkesburg community,” said John Ruane, president of The Giant Company. “No matter how they choose to shop with us, we’re excited to welcome our new neighbors to experience the freshness and value Giant is known for, combined with the latest grocery amenities, and great service from our friendly team.”
The Carlisle, Pa.-based regional grocer recently announced the April 4 grand opening of its new store in the Philadelphia metropolitan area in Jenkintown. The 50,000-square-foot store at 93 York Road will have more than 100 full- and part-time employees.
The Giant Company is known locally as Giant, Martin’s, and Giant Heirloom Market with 193 stores, online grocery services, pharmacies, and fuel stations in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. It is a division of Ahold Delhaize USA.
