Carlisle, Pa.-based grocer The Giant Co. is planning a new location in its home state.
A new 50,000-square-foot store will be built from the ground-up in Jenkintown, Pa., a borough 10 miles north of Philadelphia. The new store will bring over 100 jobs to the local community. Specific store amenities, as well as opening date, will be shared at a later date.
“With a decades-long history of serving Montgomery County, we are excited to bring GIANT to Jenkintown,” said John Ruane, interim president, The Giant Company. “The GIANT Company is looking forward to serving the families of Jenkintown by offering a simplified shopping experience, inspiring fresh ideas, and creating a healthier community, true to our purpose of connecting families for a better future.”
The Giant Co., an Ahold Delhaize USA banner company, operates 193 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and New Jersey. The upcoming Jenkintown store, which will be located at the corner of Old York Road and Wyncote Road will be the 22nd store in Montgomery County.
