Ganeden probiotic earns non-GMO Project verification

9/16/2016

Ganeden Inc., an ingredient manufacturer based in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, said that its probiotic GanedenBC earned non-GMO Project verification, having undergone a third-party evaluation confirming that the ingredient is free of GMOs. The verification makes it easier for non-GMO foods and beverages to formulate with this probiotic, according to the company. The manufacturer stated that GanedenBC is the first probiotic to receive non-GMO certification.

“The proper labeling of GMOs has been in the spotlight over the past several years,” said Mike Bush, president of Ganeden and executive board president of the International Probiotics Association. “Ganeden wants to ensure that manufacturers and consumers alike are aware that the use of GanedenBC ensures transparency, compliance with laws and peace of mind.”
