Furlani’s bread-making and cheese-manufacturing processes use microbial enzymes and microbial lipase. Yes, the cheese varieties are vegetarian too. They contain milk but no other animal-derived ingredients. The microbial enzymes and microbial lipase used are sequestered from microbial fermentation (commonly a fungi, mold or yeast) as opposed to an animal source. All Furlani products have been produced without the use of animal slaughter by-products. They also use plant-based monoglycerides.
