Gourmet grocery chain The Fresh Market has a new CEO. The Greensboro, N.C.-based company has appointed Jason Potter to helm its 159 stores in 22 states, according to a report from Store Brands sister publication Progressive Grocer.
Potter joins Fresh Market from Sobeys, where he was most recently executive vice president of operations for the Canadian grocer, where he worked for 26 years. He succeeds Larry Appel, Fresh Market's recently resigned CEO, who spent two and a half years with the company.
"I am thrilled to join The Fresh Market and look forward to working with all our team members in creating a highly differentiated specialty food retailing environment for our guests," Potter said.
