Former Walgreens group VP joins TreeHouse Foods

Effective April 24, Moe Alkemade will join Oak Brook, Ill.-based TreeHouse Foods as senior vice president and chief strategy officer, reporting to TreeHouse Chairman and CEO Sam Reed. Alkemade previously served Deerfield, Ill.-based Walgreens Boots Alliance as group vice president and general manager for the competitive convenience division.

“I’m delighted to welcome Moe to the TreeHouse family in a key senior strategy and integration role,” Reed said in a statement. “Moe brings substantial customer insight and perspective regarding private label that will prove invaluable to TreeHouse.”

At Walgreens, Alkemade created and led a team responsible for the drugstore chain’s more than $5 billion private brands business.
