Food Lion makes store brands the stars of holiday bake-off contest

On its Facebook page, Salisbury, N.C.-based Food Lion announced its “Food Lion Store Brands Holiday Bake-Off” contest in which consumers may enter their favorite holiday recipe for a chance to win a $500 Food Lion gift card.

To enter the contest, which takes place from Nov. 7 to 28, consumers first must “like” Food Lion on Facebook and then may submit a recipe using their favorite Food Lion product(s). The company said Facebook fans may come back on Dec. 5 to vote for the fan favorites.
