FDA now accepting public comment on voluntary labeling of bioengineered foods

The Food and Drug Administration’s Department of Health and Human Services, Washington, announced in the Federal Register Aug. 9 that it will accept public comment regarding manufacturers that wish to voluntarily label their foods as being made with or without bioengineering, or the use of bioengineered ingredients, to ensure that labeling is truthful and not misleading.
